Slab Top Solid Post Base
The timber in the top of this table was one of nature’s true works of art. Every beautiful characteristic of timber is on display in this piece. The 130mm x 130mm post legs feature and abundance of ‘fiddleback’ as does the tabletop. We estimate this tree to be over 400 years old.

Murray River Red Gum. (Top is one single piece).

Mortice and tenon joints.
Finish/Colour:
9 x coats hand applied Danish Oil. Hand buffered wax.
Notes:
This piece of timber was salvaged from dead log retrieved from flood plains near Corryong, Victoria. Due to the drought and the Goulburn River not flooding many beautiful Red Gum trees died as their survival relies on this flooding. This timber was destined for firewood!
